Saint John’s Connection Dance Works, has announced the premiere of Still Buffering, an innovative multidisciplinary performance merging dance, theatre, film, and experimental soundscape set to debut at the Imperial Theatre on May 11.
“We are excited to present Still Buffering,” says Joanna Bryson, Connection Dance Works’ executive director. “It’s been a truly collaborative process – from the choreography to the filming and the audio recording. We’ve been privileged to work with some amazing artists and have spent many months creating this piece. It’s been a labour of love, and we couldn’t be more excited to present it at the beautiful Imperial Theatre.”
Still Buffering explores how technology informs the complexities of human relationships. The narrative has been influenced by classic science fiction stories and the current urgency surrounding the evolution of technology and humanity’s dependency on it. Delving into thematic explorations of robots, technology, and AI, the production offers a timely examination of intimacy and human connection in the digital age.
Choreographed by Sarah Power and written by playwright Ryan Griffith, Still Buffering features performers Caroline Bell, Jean-Michel Cliche, Anna Dysart, Marcia Dysart, Patrick Jeffrey, and Chris Van Green.
