Living Roots Music Festival organizers will bring more than two dozen artists and performers to stages across the city this month for Americana Weekend, November 15-18.

In case you haven’t had your fill of music festivals here in the eleventh month of 2023, there is another big weekend of music on the horizon. Although organizers are not calling it a festival, Roots and Soul’s upcoming Americana Weekend has much in common with their early summer event, the Living Roots Music Festival. And that’s a good thing.

Earlier this fall, Fredericton music promoter/artist manager Eddie Young announced plans to host a weekend of roots-based music with a few outside-the-genre surprises thrown in for good measure. Spread out over six stages throughout the city’s downtown, the upcoming Americana Weekend will welcome a number of new and familiar faces to the city November 15-18.

I am excited to bring this event to Fredericton,” said Young. “It is called Americana Weekend but is not limited to the genre. As usual, I am determined to bring in brand new artists to the area. You may not know the names, but the tallent is there.”

The list of artists scheduled to perform is long and varied and includes returning Saskatoon-based country crooner Zachary Lucky, indie roots rockers The Pinkerton Raid (North Carolina), and Canadian country music troubadour Bobby Dove.

Other performers heading to Fredericton for the weekend include Winnipeg’s 9-piece instrumental collective Apollo Suns, and BA Johnston, as well as several regional roots performers like Colin Fowlie and the Humble Few, Jamie Comeau & the Crooked Teeth, Jaclyn Reinhart, Amber Walls, and the one and only Sleepy Driver.
