This Wednesday join members of Fredericton’s Siamsa Irish Dance for a dance-drama rendition of the classic tale by C.S Lewis about a Lion, a hag, and a magical land. A familiar story with creative twists told through dance and dialogue, this family-friendly performance will no doubt be packed with incredible dance, stunning costumes, and more than a little charm.

Here’s a fun pairing. With the ReCap Market now in full swing for the summer there will be plenty of free music to enjoy. This week’s lineup includes El Tata, a pop solo project by Fredericton producer Gabriel Ibarra and Los Amigos, the closest we’ll come to a hometown Latin-inspired super group. Los Amigos are six Fredericton-based musicians unified by their deep passion and appreciation for Cuban and Latin American music. All accomplished players in their own right, the band’s members are from Canada, Cuba, El Salvador, and the U.S. and focus mainly on the classics of Cuba and Latin America through the ages with a jazzy twist. Halifax pop sensation Keeper E. (aka Adelle Ellwood) stops in Fredericton on Friday for a show at The Cap, one of seven on her current summer tour which begins Wednesday with a hometown show at Good Robot Brewing. Making her way to Toronto with additional stops in Moncton, Montreal, Kingston, and Saint John, Keeper E’s Friday performance will also include sets by DenMother and Digital Circus. A big night of beats, both bright and dark.
