Toronto indie pop duo Mear stop at The Cap for a show midway through their east coast tour. Mear merge elements of folk and pop music through a variety of layers and textures that play off vocalist Frances Miller’s soothing voice and multi-instrumentalist Greg Harrison’s visionary approach to composition. Mear is an experiment that continues to yield rewards. Joe Ross opens the night.

Alberta’s Brock Mattsson makes his way to the east coast this week playing a show at Broken Record Bar and Music Room. Mattsson’s own take on old school country lands somewhere between Ian Tyson and folk-era Daniel Romano. While Lapointe, who holds a Master of Music in Opera, will carry audiences through some of Fitzgerald’s classic takes on classic takes, Bosse and his band will provide the grooves to power this intimate night of Standards into your long term memory. Adyn Townes is back in the city for a rare performance at Grimross Brewing Co. this week. Townes has one of the most distinct voices in east coast pop/rock circles backed by an impressive catalogue of memorable songs. He’s been at it for a long time and his experience as a songwriter, performer, and entertainer shine through each time he takes the stage. Saint John’s Apryll Aileen gets the evening started.
