Just about every stage in the city has something brewing this week. Read on to see where you should find yourself between now and Sunday.
There’s a lot happening this week. It’s the first of two weeks of Shivering Songs shows (the second will happen in the summer) with two frequently postponed shows – Rose Cousin and Bahamas – finally happening, plus lots more! There’s also an open jazz session at Grimross with Joel Miller and friends, comedy and hard rock shows at the Broken Record and a full lineup of performances at the Fredericton Playhouse. Tuesday
Symphony New Brunswick at The Fredericton Playhouse. Symphony New Brunswick welcomes guest conductor Holly Mathieson and soloists Spencer Klymyshyn (piano) for an evening performance as part of the Symphony’s Camerata series. 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday
Bahamas + Ariel Posen at The Fredericton Playhouse. Often postponed but never canceled, this amazing double bill presented by Shivering Songs will finally hit the Playhouse stage. 8 p.m.
Open Mic at Broken Record Bar and Music Room. 8 p.m.
Thursday
Glen Love at Broken Record Bar and Music Room. When is a musician no longer “emerging”? Over the past few years Love has become a go-to collaborator for several city musicians. Hear him doing his own thing this Thursday. 9:30 p.m.
Rose Cousins + Kim Harris at Wilmot United Church. Here’s another ‘often postponed but never canceled’ show c/o Shivering Songs. Congrats Rose. You did it! 7 p.m.
Open Mic at The Cap. 8:30 p.m.

Friday
Open Jazz Jam Session at Grimross Brewing Co. Join house band musicians Joel Miller, Jon Bailey and Jason Floras for some spontaneous tunes. 8 p.m.
Rose Cousins + Zamani at Wilmot United Church. Night two for Rose Cousins at Shivering Songs. Special guest Zanami. 7 p.m.
Eric Johnston’s Run With The Bull Comedy Tour at Broken Record Bar and Music Room. Start the weekend with comedian Eric Johnston, all the way from Hamilton, Ontario. 8 p.m.
Sadie + Lil Omar at The Tipsy Muse Café. Shivering Song’s presents a double at downtown Fredericton’s greatest little coffee shop/music venue. 7 p.m.
Myles Goodwyn at The Fredericton Playhouse. Singer, guitarist, writer, producer, and leader of the band April Wine, Myles Goodwyn’s passion and drive shaped and directed the group from its earliest beginnings. 7:30 p.m.
Kylie Fox + Joey Robin Hache + Womb To Tomb at The Cap. The first leg of Shivering Songs programming is underway this week. Here’s a great triple bill. 8:30 p.m.

Saturday
Crosscut at Grimross Brewing Co. Crosscut-Reloaded is a Fredericton-based cover band that plays a variety of music styles from Blues to Rock ’n Roll. 8 p.m.
Sonic Detour + Echo Seven at Broken Record Bar and Music Room. Two of New Brunswick’s hardest rocking hard rockers converge for an evening of music at Fredericton’s newest venue. 10 p.m.
Joce Reyome & Quinn Bonnell at Tipsy Muse Café. PEI Music Entertainer of the Year for 2022 and one of Fredericton’s best singer songwriters on one stage. Woah! Jump on this piece of Shivering Songs goodness. 7 p.m.
B.A. Johnston + The Burning Hell + Jeffrey Lewis at The Cap. What a line up! Great songs. Great performers. Legends. 8:30 p.m.
NB Country Showcase at The Fredericton Playhouse. Two hours of country music featuring Noel Nason, Janet Phillips, Anita Curran, Steve Knox, Allison Inch, Amy Finley, Clay Harrison, Natalie Thibodeau, Harmonix and the Showcase Band. 7:30 p.m.
East Coast Brass at Brunswick Street Baptist Church. East Coast Brass is a collaborative ensemble that brings together professional brass musicians. 6:30 p.m.
