Following up on the group’s spectacular debut, The Shiftwork EP, Fredericton’s Run The River share a video for the timely titled single, Our Winter Song.
Back in August of last year, Run The River released their five song debut, The Shiftwork EP. With catchy songwriting and arrangements, the well-received debut quickly positioned the band as one to watch going forward. Carrying that momentum into the new year, Run The River have now shared their first music video for the song, Our Winter Song, off that release.
“Our Winter Song was released in August of 2021, on our debut album, The Shiftwork EP,” states the band in an announcement supporting the video’s release. “The lyrics have to do with the loss of a relationship and the parallels between this and the season of winter. Cold, unforgiving and sometimes lonely. As East Coast Canadians, we can relate to the often overwhelming feeling of a winter that won’t let up. It was written originally as an acoustic song and when Joel brought it to the band, it came to life.”
Run The River was nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2021 Music NB Awards and enjoyed a busy first year that included performances at Harvest Music Festival, Festival (506) and Fest Forward.
With any luck, we’ll see Run The River back on stage sooner than later. Heck, hopefully we’ll see everyone back on stage before too long.
