8:37 REBIRTH, the debut of Halifax stage and film mainstay Juanita Peters is available now for streaming as part of the 2021 Silver Wave Film Festival.

8:37 REBIRTH is a physiological drama about hope, redemption and letting go. It follows two men – who as teens were forever linked by a tragic shooting – who are brought back together years later. With a shared event from their youth that changed the trajectory of their lives, things threaten to spin out of control again when they reunite.

Directed by Peters (Diggstown, Hannah’s Story, Studio Black) and starring Glen Gould (Cold Pursuit and Charlie Zone), Pasha Ebrahimi (Sex & Violence), Amy Trefry (I Hear You), & Mark A. Owen (Call Me Fitz), the spectacular cast brings this drama to life. Also featured are Haligonian actors Callum Dunphy (Cam Boy) and Daniel Lillford (Trailer Park Boys, Diggstown).

“The cast we’ve assembled for this production is incredible,” said Peters. “Everyone has worked really hard on this project, and we are really passionate about what we have put together.”

“It’s an emotional film that resonates heavily, and is a representation of what kind of content can be achieved and shot in Halifax, N.S.”

Joseph LeClair and Hank White, both known for Charlie Zone, combine for a surprising, affecting script. The film was also produced by White, LeClair and Marty Williams (Africville: Can’t Stop Now).

Also on board as Executive Producers are Thom Fitzgerald (Stage Mother, The Hanging Garden) and Doug Pettigrew (Cloudburst, Splinters). Cinematographer Jeff Wheaton (Murmur) lent his talent to the film as well.

“We are looking forward to sharing this film with a large audience,” said producer White. “We have managed to assemble a fully Nova Scotian cast and crew which include a number of fantastic Indigenous first time members on this production who made this a reality.”

“It’s an important production and we are so happy to be included in the Silver Wave for the upcoming festival.”

Watch 8:37 REBIRTH and dozens of other films streaming now as part of Silver Wave Film Festival’s 21st annual event.
