As galleries across the province slowly start to reopen their doors after a few dark months, the concept of showcasing exhibitions in the virtual world will most likely become an accepted and expected means of interacting with content going forward. At least for those still leery of venturing into public spaces for the foreseeable future.
Since the initial lockdown, several New Brunswick galleries have made online exhibition viewing an option, a move that serves to expand the reach of each new collection and bring greater attention to the gallery as well as each participating artist and their work.
There are currently several virtual exhibitions now on display at galleries across the province. Here are just a few of the options available to enjoy from the cozy confines of your isolation location.

Momentum at Gallery on Queen. Gallery on Queen’s first virtual exhibition features the work of Moncton artist Jared Betts. Paintings by Jared Betts’ can be found the world over, in private collections from Paris to Los Angeles. His work often features bright colours, deliberate drips and abstract imagery. He completed his MFA at NSCAD in Halifax, Nova Scotia and had his first international exhibition (Iceland) the same year.
