Fredericton’s Tipsy Muse Café have announced plans for socially-distanced in-house concert series.

It’s been a while since there was any live music anywhere, but that’s slowly changing. This week, owners of the Tipsy Muse Café in downtown Fredericton announced plans to welcome artists and audiences back into their 96 Regent Street location for a series of limited-seating performances featuring a lineup of popular New Brunswick musicians.

“I would like to take this time to introduce, now that we are into our Yellow Phase, our Mellow Yellow Concert Series,” said co-owner Rob Pinnock.  “We are very happy to be back with music programming.”

To adhere to all mandatory precautionary measures, the venue’s seating has been reduced significantly. Chairs will be grouped together in 2s, 3s and 4s, and as a result, patrons are encouraged to attend with members of their immediate family or bubbled group.

All tickets must be purchased at the café in advance and in person.

“When purchasing tickets, we ask that you consider your crew. Try to respect the bubbles and people you have been socializing with because we don’t want to take back a lot of the great work we have been doing here at The Muse and as a province,” said Pinnock.

During these events, patrons will be asked to place their orders via text. Staff will then prepare and deliver orders directly to audience members. This precaution is intended to limit movement between customers and staff.

“I think we’re really kind of excited about this,” said Pinnock, who will also be encouraging performers to follow similar actions related to merch sales.

“We’re really excited about this next phase but we really want to make sure everyone is safe. From our patrons to our own staff and the very musicians who are taking the stage,” he said.

The Mellow Yellow Concert Series begins June 5.
