Fredericton’s Spearhead Theatre will launch its upcoming season with a reading of new work by Greg Everett, Feb. 29 at the Odell Park Lodge.
After an impressive first year that included a production of John Pielmeier’s Agnes of God and the company’s first annual 24-hour play creation event, Spearhead Theatre will be announcing its plans for the coming year February 29 at the Odell Park Lodge.
The evening will feature a reading of Oxbow, a new play by Fredericton playwright Greg Everett and the third in his BVRNTLAND series, set in a fictional New Brunswick.
Oxbow follows Carrion Birds and Gullywhump, Everett’s two previous BVRNTLAND stories, both of which were featured as part of the NotaBle Acts Summer Theatre Festival.
The February 29 event will include complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages (courtesy of Picaroons Brewing Company and York County Cider), all included with the purchase of a $20 ticket ($15 for guests 18 and under).
“We’re so excited to have some new artists join the Spearhead Theatre family,” says Artistic Director Kelly McAllister. “We pride ourselves on being very community-oriented, and what better way to launch our 2020 season than with a relaxed evening of friends, theatre, food, and a couple of pints?”
Tickets can be purchased online at www.spearheadtheatretix.square.site or at the door. (Cash, credit, and debit are accepted.)
