Submissions are now open for the 2020 Fundy FRINGE Festival.
Plans are in motion for an exciting eighth annual Fundy FRINGE Festival. Saint John’s summer theatre festival will return August 18-22, 2020 making its home throughout the uptown core offering an extensive line-up of edgy, out of the ordinary performance art as well as a full host of exciting after-hours activities.
Applications for the 2020 Fundy FRINGE Festival are currently being accepted. The deadline for submission is Friday, March 6, 2020. “We are honoured to be presenting an accessible, un-juried, uncensored performing arts festival to Saint John for the 8th year in a row!” Sarah Rankin, Festival Director.
There are 20 slots available which will consist of 10 regional acts, eight national acts, and two international acts. One act regionally and one act nationally will be reserved for artists who identify as a minority, LGBTQ+ or disabled. Successful applicants will be selected in true Fringe style – by lottery! The selected applicants will make up the 2020 Fundy FRINGE Festival line-up.
“Innovative, edgy and exhilarating performances are what set Fringe apart from other festivals. We’re excited to receive applications from all around the world and from our own local talent that push the envelope. We encourage applications from underrepresented communities as well, including BIPOC, peoples with disabilities, and from the LGBTQIA2S+ communities,” Sarah Rankin, Festival Director.
To apply applicants will be required to pay a $25 fee upon submission. Selected participants will be charged a $250 fee to cover production fees and promotional listings.
