Monday
Monday Night Film Series: Pavarotti
Featuring never-before-seen footage, concert performances and intimate interviews, Academy Award winner Ron Howard puts audiences front row center for an exploration of The Voice…The Man…The Legend. Opera tenor Luciano Pavarotti gave his life to the music and a voice to the world before passing away from pancreatic cancer in 2007. The quintessential Italian tenor, who did more to popularize opera in the latter half of the 20th century than anyone else receives a lavish and celebratory tribute in Pavarotti. Casting a net deep into the archives and calling on a vast array of the singer’s friends, family and colleagues, Ron Howard has taken time out from his dramatic feature work to deliver another likable documentary on a musical titan

Tuesday
Open Mic Night at The Capital. Dylan Ward hosts this weekly event at The Capital. If you are a duo, or a band, stop by and try out a new tune in front of a very encouraging crowd. 9 p.m. No cover.
CHSR Presents: Pallmer. Pallmer perform as part of the third season of live performances in the lobby at CHSR (SUB Building, UNB). 6 p.m. Free.
James Gray (ON)/Evan Leblanc at Grimross Brewing Co. James Gray is a singer/songwriter from Muskoka Ontario. James writes songs about the stories and experiences of everyday life. For the past few years Gray has been touring throughout Canada, Western Europe and recently Australia. He is joined by Fredericton-based folk singer Evan LeBlanc. 7:30 p/m/ $5-10.
Wednesday
Celebrating the Music of the 1960s at Dolan’s Pub. Autism Connections Fredericton is excited to announce a great opportunity to support work in the community and enjoy the latest in our live music series. Come join us for a night in celebration of the incredible music that was produced in the 1960s. Performances by Juke Box Live, Maggie’s Farm Revival, and the Dolans Late Night Orchestra will help you travel through time to an era where amazing music was recorded and performed. 7 p.m.

Jerry Leger at The Tipsy Muse Café. Songwriters such as Ron Sexsmith, Doug Paisley and outlets such as Rolling Stone, PopMatters and the Toronto Star have sung Leger’s praises. He’s also shared stages with The Sadies, Justin Townes Earle, Deer Tick, Tift Merritt, Dawes, and others. 7:30 p.m. $20.

Mary’s Wedding at the Fredericton Playhouse. On the night before her wedding, Mary dreams of a thunderstorm, during which she unexpectedly meets Charlie sheltering in a barn beside his horse. With innocence and humour, the two discover a charming first love. But the year is 1914, and the world is collapsing into a brutal war. Together, they attempt to hide their love, galloping through the fields for a place and time where the tumultuous uncertainties of battle can’t find them. 7:30 p.m.

Les fils du facteur with Chloé Breault at Centre Communautaire Sainte-Anne. Mixing poetry, humour, festive songs, and a bit of melancholy, Les fils du facteur are true stage artists. Charismatic singer, Sacha Maffli, skilfully handles words behind his guitar, accompanied by Emilien Colin on the accordion. This is a Swiss duo you will not forget! With her first mini-album, Love, Acadian singer-songwriter, Chloé Breault, offers an intimate show full of…love! 7:30 p.m.
Ashley MacIsaac at The Playhouse. Ashley MacIsaac plays the fiddle with intensity, authenticity, and a passion that is hard to deny. He learned his chops at an early age, mentored by some of the legendary greats of the area, performing all over the Island in halls, clubs, barns and kitchens. Hi How Are You was released in the mid-90s and the accolades rolled in, the awards, the touring, the interviews and appearances, the persona took shape and the legend took hold. Ashley continues today with the same passion and dedication to his fans, his craft and his country. 7:30 p.m.
Disney’s Frozen Jr. at the Tom Morrison Theatre. Chameleon Jo Productions’ Young Company and Musical Adventure Club are proud to present this New Brunswick premier! Mike Biggar with Manitoba Hal at The Tipsy Muse Café. Friends for years, Mike and Hal’s first performance together came in February 2019 when Hal joined Biggar onstage for his blues showcase at the international Folk Alliance Conference in Montreal QC. They appeared again in May 2019 at East Coast Music Week in Charlottetown PEI for showcase appearances that garnered praise from audiences and industry delegates. Their first official tour combines Biggar’s soulful melodies and powerhouse vocals – Hal’s effortless mastery of the Blues on resonator, cigar box guitar and ukulele – and abundant fun and humour from each with their onstage banter, demeanor and tales from the road. 7 p.m. $15.

Gala 60 at The Beaverbrook Art Gallery. Celebrate the past and embrace the future at Gala 60. This very special 60th anniversary will be celebrated with a look to the future: the exclusive preview opening of the Marion McCain Exhibition of Contemporary Atlantic Art, celebrating some of the finest artists currently working in New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada. With an artistic eye fixed on the future, the evening will also provide a look to the past: timecapsule photos from our opening year, signature vintage cocktails, a scotch tasting, fashion and art all geared to transport you back to 1959. Concert entertainment will be provided by New Brunswick’s own David Myles. Later on, dance the evening away with Sugarbomb. 7 p.m.
