The George Fry Gallery, CraftNB, and Created Here/The NBCCD Studio present an artist talk this Thursday at 408 Queen Street.
CraftNB’s Beneath the Surface 2019 exhibition is currently on display at the George Fry Gallery, downtown Fredericton. The exhibit involves the work of 20 craftspersons who applied for and then attended a 5-day residency in Fundy Park in June of this year.
On Thursday October 3, the public are invited to explore the wonders of nature and fine craft at the Beneath the Surface 2019 Artist Panel Discussion & Gallery Tour.
The public are invited to meet at 4:30 p.m. at the George Fry Gallery at 457 Queen Street to view the exhibition works and then reconvene at 6 p.m. at the Created Here/NBCCD Studio at 408 Queen Street for an exciting discussion featuring three artists from the residency who have work in the exhibition: Steve Jones, Jennifer Marlow and Kel Hines, as well as Daniel Sinclair, a Fundy National Park representative who can speak about the Fundy experience, our protected environment, and the inspiration of this place for the artists who created artwork after their time in the residency at Fundy.
Daniel Sinclair will darken the space to take you on the experience of his now-famous night hike that most of the artists in the residency went on during their time in the park and are still talking about today.
