Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire, Matt Boudreau, Tomato/Tomato, Adyn Townes and Motherhood top this year’s list of award nominees.
Music•Musique NB have announced this year’s MNB Award nominees. Spread our across 15 categories that recognize the work of solo artists, bands, industry personnel as well as a variety of players and supporters through the new MVP category, the MNB Awards are a celebration of all things music in the province.
Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire, Matt Boudreau and Tomato/Tomato lead this year’s nominations, each having received nods in five categories, six if counting the Fans’ Choice. Fredericton’s Adyn Townes and Motherhood follow closely behind with four nominations each.
The MNB Awards were overhauled this year in an effort to recognize the variety of ways in which artists and industry professionals practice their craft and earn a living. Categories such as Artist in Rotation take into account the ubiquitous world of streaming, while Champion of the Year recognize the great work being done behind the curtains.
Twenty awards will be presented to artists and industry professionals who have made their mark on the New Brunswick music scene in the past year, during the 10th editon of the MNB Awards, taking place in Moncton, on October 24.
The Award Show kicks off Festival (506), a four-day migrating event which showcases incredible homegrown New Brunswick music. A limited number of tickets for the MNB Awards Show are available online.
Music•Musique NB is looking to the public to help them choose the winners.
All categories are open for public and member voting. Voting begins online at noon on Friday, September 13, and ends on Friday, October 11 at noon.
