Halifax indie rockers reunite for shows in Moncton and Halifax to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their final album, Clayton Park.

FREDERICTON SHOW ADDED!

Halifax rock band Thrush Hermit will reunite this fall to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their final album, Clayton Park. The band will perform at the Tide and Boar Ballroom in Moncton on Thursday, Sept. 26 and the Marquee Ballroom in Halifax on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m.

Well-regarded upon release for its ambitious alchemy of anthemic hooks and 70s-inspired riffage, Clayton Park has since gained a reputation as a classic of its era. To celebrate  the 20th anniversary, the album will be issued for the first time as a gatefold double-vinyl package via New Scotland Records.

Original members Rob Benvie, Cliff Gibb, Ian McGettigan, and Joel Plaskett will briefly reform for a limited run of shows in 2019. For a band renowned for its raucous live performances, the anniversary is an occasion of both nostalgic reminiscence and excitement in rekindling its formidable rock power one more time.

“My forearms feel very limber,” McGettigan says. “Oh so very limber.”
