Just a few months after launching, the New Brunswick-based label TwoFifteen Records have revealed details about its first release. The label will be releasing Seasonal Depression, a new EP by Wangled Teb on March 29.
Wangled Teb is an award-winning electronic music project from Fredericton musician Indigo Poirier.
“This album is much darker in tone than my previous releases,” said Poirier, explaining her forthcoming release. “It’s sort of an exploration of the feelings of loneliness, sadness, and despair that can often set in during the winter months when everything seems more difficult, the days are shorter, the nights are longer, and the air literally feels like it’s trying to hurt you.”
Wangled Teb’s 2018 EP, Earth, received national attention appearing on many campus/community radio station’s charts in the final weeks of 2018. While the release focused heavily on collaborations with other musicians, Poirier chose to return to her original format for Seasonal Depression.
“I still believe strongly that music can be entirely electronic and still be heartfelt and have emotional resonance. This release was produced entirely by me in my living room. That made the most sense, I think, to create it alone considering the theme.”
TwoFifteen Records was launched in the fall of 2018. The label was founded by CHSR station manager Erin Bond.
“I’m excited to be working with Wangled Teb,” says Bond. “I think what she’s producing is unique in sound and very special, and I’m glad to have the opportunity to be a part of it.”
Pre-orders are now open. Watch for details on release shows coming in the weeks ahead.
