Blue Rodeo co-founder Greg Keelor will headline the ninth annual Shivering Songs Festival January 22-27, 2019 in Fredericton.
Shivering Songs wraps up its first round of 2019 performer announcements with one last reveal, and it’s a big one. Canadian music giant Greg Keelor will be a headline performer at this year’s festival.
Known to many as a founding member of the iconic Canadian group Blue Rodeo, Keelor has released an impressive body of work as a composer, producer and songwriter. He recently released his fifth solo album, Last Winter, recorded at home with multi-instrumentalist Jim Bowskill.
“It’s an honour to present one of the most iconic songwriters in our nation’s history at Shivering Songs,” said Festival co-organizer Zach Atkinson. “Over three decades, Greg Keelor has created an incredible body of work, both with Blue Rodeo and across his five introspective, deeply personal solo albums. We’re thrilled to host Greg for a rare solo show this January.”
Keelor joins previously announced headliners Erin Costelo, Jeremy Dutcher, Dan Mangan and Bedouine.
A midwinter celebration of songwriting and storytelling, and flagship partner of Fredericton’s FROSTival, Shivering Songs hosts internationally renowned artists in historic and intimate spaces throughout Downtown Fredericton, on the unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik people.
Shivering Songs 2019 will take place January 22-27. Passes go onside Friday October 5.
