By this point in time, it’s probably safe to say that anyone associated with music in Fredericton, or the province of New Brunswick for that matter, has heard of The Capital Project. The upcoming film and associated web series began as a documentary on Fredericton’s popular music venue but has since grown to focus on the how music is a way of life for so many New Brunswickers.

While the crew behind this mammoth project are prepping to showcase their work at the Atlantic Film Festival this weekend, today they posted a cut for the larger film to help mark the venue’s 20th anniversary happening this week.

As the name of this clip suggests, this 3.5 minute vignette takes a look on one aspect of the venue’s programming and how Open Mic Night at The Capital has been a training ground for area musicians for the past several years. Check it out.
