Prince Edward Island post-punks Absolute Losers will stop in Fredericton this week for a show Thursday night at The Cap. The band will be joined by Montreal dream-pop outfit Prism Shores and the recently reinvigorated Brookside Mall, who are celebrating the release of latest album, No More Fragrant Thoughts, released earlier this month.
Wound Up + Scorn + Donum Dei | Thursday May 23 | Broken Record Bar & Music Room | View Event
The Broken Record Bar & Music Room gets loud this Thursday night with a trio of loud acts guaranteed to damage your hearing in the most fun way possible. North Shore heavies Wound Up and Fredericton’s own Scorn kick off a five date tour of the province with local sludge trio Donum Dei starting things off. Beware of tinnitus. Wear your ear plugs.

Jazz is back at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Fredericton. Southside Shake, the hotel’s street level gin bar has been hosting jazz performances for the past few years animating Queen Street’s east end with the smoothes of sounds. it wouldn’t be summer without live jazz on the patio.

York County Cider will host a performance by local musician Timothy Stevenson this Friday. Stevenson’s repertoire includes a mix of popular chart toppers and more than a few timeless classics helping to craft the perfect atmosphere for your Friday post-work wind down.

Don’t stop me if you’ve heard this one: A jazz saxophonist, a bluegrass guitar player, and the most in-demand bass player in town walk into a bar…. No, seriously. It’s not a joke. Juno Award winning Canadian sax great Joel Miller, bluegrass phenom Al Jeffries and the five foot master of the four strings, Jason Flores, are Goat Mountain, a new Fredericton trio that needs to be seen (and heard) to be believed.
