On display at the Yellow Box Gallery (St. Thomas University) until Sept 15, 2015
The Yellow Box Gallery and the St. Thomas University Fine Arts Department is pleased to present the sculptural exhibition, 31 Tabletop Sculptures by Nic Wilson. Nic Wilson a long-standing Fredericton native has recently completed a Fine Arts degree in New Brunswick and is now pursuing his career as a visual artist in Montreal.
Nic Wilson’s 31 Tabletop Sculptures represents a body of work that draws on the lived experience of the recent arts graduate in the work economy. In his exhibition Wilson explores the intersection between the ephemeral and the realities of paid employment, both in the choice of material and the context of his creative insurgency redefining the formalities of office work. The publication accompanying the exhibition offers a suite of images related to the exhibition as well as an exploratory essay on art and labour by Leah Garnett of Mount Allison University.
The Yellow Box Gallery would like to thank Nic Wilson for this exhibition and Leah Garnett of Mount Allison University for her essay. The Yellow Box Gallery can be found on the 3rd floor of McCain Hall on the St. Thomas University campus. The exhibition runs through to September 15.
