Nasty Shadows Theatre Company return to the stage with a two play tour of the province.

Since its founding in 1999, Fredericton’s Nasty Shadows Theatre Company have built a reputation for unique, engaging productions brought to life by some of the region’s most respected theatre artists.

Embracing its independent and creative ethics to maximum capacity, the company and its members willingly choose to forego the confines of traditional theatre seasons (2, 3 or 4 plays produced annually) and instead, surface only when the time is right. And lucky for New Brunswick theatre lovers, that time is now.

This fall will see the company back on stage for the first time in nearly two years – following the January 2017 production of Daniel MacIvor’s In On It – returning this time with two plays and a three city tour.

Under the banner Ohio House -Two Plays, Two Playwrights, 1 Night, company founder Scott Shannon and longtime collaborator Michael Holmes-Lauder will perform Samuel Beckett’s Ohio Impromptu and Daniel MacIvor’s House for audiences in Fredericton, Moncton and Saint John.

About the plays:

OHIO IMPROMPTU written by Samuel Beckett. The Reader reads, turning the pages, while the Listener listens — intently. One and the same, fighting the ‘old terror of night’ to retell a story from his life, the Listener hears the Reader’s words about a departed loved one, a haunting memory.

Directed by Elizabeth Goodyear | Featuring Scott Shannon and Michael Holmes-Lauder

HOUSE written by Daniel MacIvor. “My mother is possessed by the devil. My father is the saddest man in the world. My sister is in love with the dog. The one I love does not love me … and I’ve got nowhere to live.” House is a stand up sit down one man comedy nightmare about Victor, a man on the edge.

Directed by Michael Holmes-Lauder | Featuring Scott Shannon
