New Brunswick rural folk festival celebrates 10 years with one of its strongest lineups to date.
It’s been 10 years since musicians first began gathering in the tiny New Brunswick hamlet of Tay Creek to perform, celebrate and carry on the folk tradition. In that time, the Tay Creek Folk Festival has become an annual highlight to many with its laid back, family friendly atmosphere, sharing ‘music of the people’ in a relaxed barnyard setting.
This year’s festival main stage welcomes musicians and performers from around the region with workshops and open jam sessions set to take place on the acoustic stage where guitars, banjos, mandolins, autoharps, fiddles and voices are all welcome to participate.
This year’s lineup includes the Quebec trio, Outside I’m a Giant and Toronto indie folk artist, Lindsay Foote joining a cast of New Brunswick’s own musicians including Aydn Townes, Kathleen Gorey McSorley, The Montgomery Street Band, Big Monday Blues, Men From Earth and the Brent Mason Band.
As always, the festival offers children’s activities, hiking trails, on-site camping and a BBQ. You can even take a dip in the nearby River Tay.
